Some of my fondest memories growing up revolved around my and my mother's love of shopping. Even as young as 7 or 8, I remember the moments when my mother would whisk me away to her favorite stores at the International Mall in Tampa. Though I was often impatient and would've rather been carefully selecting a plushie from the stuffed animal mountain at the Disney store, there was always something special about visiting the Brighton jewelers with her.
The women who worked there were kind and attentive, always offering mini branded water bottles and cookies to me and my brother while mom would pore over the counter at all of the intricate jewels and gems. Brighton, known for its whimsigoth-esque mixed-metal creations, charm bracelets and pendant necklaces, was definitely ahead of its time—and, truth be told, kicked off the trends we're seeing reemerge today as '90s and early '00s styles make their way back to the forefront.
It got me thinking: What does today's Brighton carry? And would I, a zillennial, be rocking the same styles as my beloved mother? The answers to each are 1. major goodies and 2. a definite yes. After some digging, I found that Brighton is still the beacon of bejeweled charm that it was when I was a kid. So, without further ado, here are six styles to snap up from the cherished mall brand (in honor of Gen X moms everywhere).
