Blake Lively Copies Queen Camilla's Chic Styling Trick in NYC—Though My Eyes Were Focused on Her Sky-High Heels

Chic is an understatement

There’s no denying it — the royals know how to bring it when it comes to fashion. Whether it’s Kate Middleton’s polished elegance, Duchess Sophie’s understated glam, Princess Eugenie’s cool-girl royal vibe or Queen Camilla’s classic sophistication, each of them has had more than a few iconic style moments. So it’s not a huge surprise that celebs might take a few notes from their playbook. Case in point: Blake Lively’s latest look feels straight out of Queen Camilla’s style file—and I'm so here for it.

Blake stepped out in New York City for the Chanel Tribeca Festival Artists Dinner on June 9 and she looked effortlessly chic. She wore a white crochet midi dress with spaghetti straps (Chanel, of course), which was already giving elevated summer goddess energy. But it was the way she styled it that gave it that royal-approved edge. Enter: the shoulder drape.

Instead of wearing her jacket the traditional way, Blake casually draped a denim-textured jacket with crisp white cuffs over her shoulders. Sound familiar? That’s because Queen Camilla just did the exact same thing last week while visiting Mulberry Wood Wharf Primary School in London for the Big Lunch event. She rocked a tan trench coat draped over her shoulders — no sleeves needed. It’s such a small styling detail, but it instantly elevates any outfit.

But let’s not forget those shoes. Blake paired her look with nude, sky-high strappy heels that were anything but basic. Think crystals, multi-colored pearls and sparkly embellishments on the straps, the heel, even the sole — it was full-on glam in the best way possible.

A royal-inspired shoulder drape and heels that deserve their own spotlight? That's how you make an entrance.
