David Beckham recently hit a major milestone—the big 5-0—and his family made sure the moment didn’t go unnoticed. The soccer legend celebrated his 50th birthday on May 2, and his loved ones took to social media with a mix of sweet messages and never-before-seen throwbacks that gave fans a rare peek into their private life.

First up was his son Romeo, who he shares with wife Victoria Beckham. Romeo posted a playful snap of him and his dad wearing sparkly pink and blue sunglasses on their heads, both pulling the same pouty face.

"Happy birthday to the most amazing role model, love you so so much," Romeo captioned the photo.

Victoria joined in on the celebration early, posting a video the day before his birthday of the two dancing to “Islands In The Stream” by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. The couple swayed and laughed together in a moment that felt both intimate and totally them.

“Happy birthday eve @davidbeckham… my everything. My best friend, soul mate and dance partner for life,” she wrote. “Like the song says: We start and end as one, in love forever, we can ride it together, ah ha. I love you xxxxxxxxxx.”

On David’s actual birthday, she followed up with a heartwarming montage set to the Bee Gees' “Love You Inside Out,” featuring clips from his early soccer days, family moments with their kids, gym workouts and more. It wrapped with a shot of the two riding off together on a motorcycle, overlaid with: “Happy 50th Birthday.”

"When I look at this video, I think, ‘Wow… how lucky am I!!’” Victoria wrote. “You’re everything I could have dreamed of and more. Happy 50th @davidbeckham!!! I love you and our beautiful family endlessly. You complete me xxx.”

David also marked the milestone with a reflective Instagram post, sharing a carousel of throwback photos and a heartfelt caption.

“As I reflect on this Birthday I'm very grateful for many things in my life… the teams I've played for, my team mates, managers, the fans, MY COUNTRY and being England captain… But my biggest accomplishment is and will always be my family,” he wrote, going on to thank his parents, grandparents, sisters and, of course, Victoria and their four kids—Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

“You are the reason I get out of bed each day… I love you all so much and thank you for making today so special for me… You are my world,” he added.

Happy 50th, David!
