It really says a lot

When it comes to communication, words are just one part of the story. Sometimes, it’s the nonverbal cues—the gestures, posture, eye contact—that really do the talking. And yes, that even applies to royals. Case in point: Prince William.

The Prince of Wales stepped out in London on June 26 to attend the "Investing for Impact" event at The Guildhall, which brings together Earthshot Prize success stories, sustainability leaders and potential investors focused on environmental solutions. And while he looked polished in his go-to navy suit and a red-and-gray tie, what was really striking was his body language.

Phil Mutz, PureWow’s VP of News and Entertainment (and royal reporter), noted, “He appears to be having the best time—genuine smiles a lot. Plus, he has a lot of open body language, indicating he's quite comfortable.”

And the photos back it up.

Images from the event show Prince William positively glowing. Whether he’s laughing mid-conversation, flashing a warm smile while on stage or beaming during meet-and-greets with 2024 Earthshot Prize finalists, it’s clear he wasn’t just there for the photo op—he was genuinely present.

But it wasn’t all smiles and mingling. Prince William also delivered a heartfelt speech, and body language expert Darren Stanton (on behalf of Betfair Slots) shared some insights about that moment, too.

“It came across as authentic and meaningful, proving he isn’t hiding any of his emotions or faking it,” Stanton said. “He remained confident throughout the talk, glancing down at his notes now and then, but this isn’t a sign of a lack of confidence in this case.”

All signs point to a royal who’s comfortable in his role, passionate about the cause and clearly not afraid to let his real emotions show.
